Starshots Glamour Photography has been operating since 1992 and is currently Australia's largest chain of glamour portrait studios with 13 studios stretching down the eastern seaboard from Darwin to Melbourne. 11 of the studios are franchised having owners who were previously employed as school teachers, marketing managers, photographers and salespeople, or who were owners of other small businesses.

Starshots studios operate at the premium end of the portrait market, offering a high-calibre product with a 100% satisfaction guarantee to every client. The studios are generally situated in major shopping centres with parking facilities, and offer a range of products including quality portraits in a range of finishes, professional framing, leather albums, canvas prints and Star photo books.

The Franchisee

Our current Franchisees come from diverse backgrounds. These include school teachers, dance instructors, marketing managers, small business owners and previous staff members of Starshots studios.

The ideal Franchisee will be of good financial standing, will have an outgoing personality, will be system-focused, and preferably have a sales and/or management background.

People are at the core of our business and we therefore look to like-minded individuals who have the drive to succeed to join up to the Starshots Franchise system.
(Knowledge of photography is not essential)

The Franchisor

The Franchisor offers assistance and support at every stage:

- Location selection with rent negotiation
- Studio design and fit-out
- Equipment selection
- Pre-opening training of Franchisee and key staff
- Initial operation supervision and further ongoing training
- Ongoing marketing and promotional calendar with assistance
- Ready-to-use advertising templates
- Group buying power
- Bi-annual franchise conferences

The Cost

The investment required for a typical Starshots Photography franchise is between $50,000 and $200,000. There is a monthly franchise royalty of 8% of sales and a marketing fund levy of 3% of sales payable each month.
